A collaboration between One & Other, electronic musician Max Cooper and generative artist Jessica In (SheDrawsWithCode). The Penrose tile is a mathematical curiosity - an aperiodic tiling that covers an infinite plane using just two shapes. No matter how far you extend it, the pattern never repeats itself.

This design riffs on that aperiodic concept in a unique way. It remixes that mathematical structure and prints it across the entire garment - front, back and sleeves. Digitally printed onto fabric before cutting and sewing, for a crisp, clean finish.

Endless tiling without repeating

The Penrose tiling pattern, named after the mathematician and physicist Roger Penrose, is an intriguing example of aperiodic tiling. Unlike conventional tiling patterns, which consist of simple repeating units, aperiodic patterns exhibit a unique property – they do not repeat.
